RESTAURANTS
In the Doué-la-Fontaine region, 25 minutes from Angers, the unusual setting of the 'Caves de la Genevraie' restaurant
A stone's throw from Rocaminori, the family welcomes you to their restaurants, the Caves de la Genevraie and l'Ammonite. These troglodytic restaurants are housed in galleries and passageways carved into the rock, which were used as shelters during the French Wars of Religion.
Today, this unusual troglodytic venue, elegantly furnished and decorated with flowers, is the perfect setting for your gourmet moments. Here you can enjoy a culinary experience as original as the surrounding environment, by sampling the delicious regional speciality, Fouace. A bread roll baked over a wood fire, it comes in a choice of different fillings: mushrooms, cheese, mogettes, rillettes... you name it.
And to make this unique experience even more special, you can visit the oven and the 800m² underground galleries of the site.
